Privacy Policy
Wavekind is designed to let you listen with as little personal information as possible. You can browse, search, and play content without creating an account.
Information we collect
If you create an account, we collect your email address, an account identifier, and authentication records. We never receive your password in readable form.
When you use account sync, we store favorites, recently played items, listening sessions and statistics, app preferences, podcast subscriptions, saved episodes, and episode progress. Support messages contain the information you choose to send us.
Our services and the station, podcast, artwork, and hosting providers you contact may automatically receive technical request information, including your IP address, device or app information, the requested content, and the date and time of the request. Wavekind does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising or tracking.
Purchases
Apple or Google processes payments. RevenueCat helps us confirm purchase and subscription status so that Wavekind can unlock paid features. We receive product, transaction, entitlement, and renewal status, but not your full payment-card details.
How we use information
- Provide playback, search, downloads, notifications, synchronization, and listening statistics.
- Authenticate your account and maintain subscription access.
- Secure, operate, troubleshoot, and improve Wavekind.
- Respond to support and privacy requests and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable, we process information to perform our agreement with you, based on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service, with your consent, or to meet a legal obligation.
Service providers and content sources
Supabase provides account authentication, cloud storage, synchronization, and server functions. RevenueCat manages subscription entitlements. Radio Browser provides the radio directory, and Podcast Index provides podcast discovery. Apple or Google processes store purchases. Independent radio stations, podcast hosts, and image hosts deliver the content you request directly to your device. These providers may process information under their own privacy terms.
Sharing and international processing
We disclose information only to providers that help operate Wavekind, when you direct us to, or when required for security or law. Those providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and synchronized information while your account is active and for only as long afterward as reasonably necessary for security, legal, or operational purposes. You can permanently delete your account and cloud data from Profile → Delete account. Device-local downloads and preferences can be removed in the app or by uninstalling Wavekind. Store transaction records remain subject to Apple’s or Google’s retention requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can use the core listening features without an account, disable notifications in system settings, manage or cancel subscriptions in your store account, and delete your Wavekind account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, or deletion by contacting us. You may complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
Wavekind is not designed specifically for children. Its third-party radio and podcast catalogue may contain material intended for mature audiences.
Changes
We may update this policy as Wavekind changes. We will publish the new effective date here and provide any additional notice required by law.
